Turkish airlines transport 800 Sierra Leone Pilgrims to Hajj, on it’s first day of operation
Turkish Airlines yesterday morning transported 800 Sierra Leone Pilgrims to this year’s Hajj and to commence arrangements for the setting up of offices in Freetown in preparation for its inaugural scheduled flight to Sierra Leone on December 15th, 2017.
The Vice President of The Republic of Sierra Leone, Victor Bockarie Foh and The Minister of Transport and Aviation Leonard Balougu Koroma were at Lungi International Airport to receive the first flight and officials of the airline.
The airline company carried out the first operation in the country on 17th August, 2017 by carrying Sierra Leone pilgrims’ candidates to Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia.
THY, which delivered 268 people to Jeddah on the first day, learned that in the next three days 800 pilgrims would reach the holy land.

The 2015 Europe’s Best Airline (Turkish Airlines) is expected to provide direct flights to Istanbul with worldwide connections and flights to the West African sub region.
