Trump Decision “Dangerous”. Palestinian Ambassador to Ghana

The Palestinian Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency, AbduFatah A.K. Alsattari has described as “dangerous” president Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moving the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to East Jerusalem.

The high commissioner made these comments when he spoke with Fernil News, Musa Inuwa last Thursday at the Palestinian Embassy in Accra.

He said the said declaration by President Donald Trump is dangerous to the future of the peace process. “I think this is a sad day in the history of the people of Palestine. This decision is dangerous to the future of the peace process. I think that this decision has destroyed the remainings of the peace process and end the two state solution because East Jerusalem according to international resolutions, is the capital city of Palestine”

Some few days ago, President of the United States of America, Donald Trump said that “I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel” and further stated that “while previous presidents have made this a major campaign promise, they failed to deliver. Today, I am delivering”.

This pronouncement by Trump drew condemnation across the world with the UK Prime Minister saying that the speech was “unhelpful in terms of prospects for peace in the region”

The ambassador also thanked the many countries who added their voices to condemn Trump’s pronouncements especially countries like China, Britain and France. He said “I want to thank China, Britain and France, they did not agree with Trump and they would not remove their embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem”

He also thanked the Arab nations especially Saudi Arabia whom he says have done quite well contrary to public perception of them not doing enough in the whole Israeli-Palestinian crisis.

He urged everyone to support the Palestinian cause so the desired outcome would be achieved and for peace to prevail.
