Support Dagbon with Scholarship, Business Opportunities – Ya-Na to Canadian High Commissioner

The overlord of Dagbon Ya-Na Mahama Abukari II has appealed to the Canadian High Commissioner to support the people of
Dagbon in the Northen region of Ghana with scholarships and create business opportunities.

He appeal to Dr Heather Cameron to support Dagbon indigenes to further study medicine, engineering amongst others abroad to acquire the needed knowledge and expertise to help develop the region.
Ya-Na Mahama urged Dr Cameron to further encourage Canadian companies to see the potentials of the kingdom so as to set up businesses there to job employment and development.

The High Commissioner paid a courtesy call on the Dagbon ruler at the Gbewaa Palace at Yendi to congratulate him on his enskinment as well as wish his reign well.

On her part, the High Commissioner said her visit was in “recognition of our history and our future.”

She was optimistic that the peace enjoyed the kingdom would open doors for the development and prosperity of all those in Dagbon and the whole Northern region.

Dr Cameron also spoke about the collaborations between Canada and Ghana citing specifically in the areas of access to potable drinking water, education, sanitation.

The Dagbon overlord’s message which was delivered by the Nanton-Naa Mahamadu Bawa V also touched on the subject of business collaboration to harness the agricultural and minerals deposits potentials of the region.
