Sports – Black Stars thump Ethiopia 5-0 in AFCON qualifier

The Black Stars of Ghana run riot when they played Ethiopia in their opening 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Baba Yara stadium.

Ghana scored five unanswered goals against their opponents. The Black Stars got their first goal in the 10th minute when captain Asamoah Gyan connected a cross from Thomas Agyepong.

The goal is Gyan’s 50th for Ghana, and also makes him the all-time highest scorer for the country.

The second goal was by defender, John Boye. Yes, Boye scored! His goal was a sensational one.

Ebenezer Ofori capped a great performance on the day with a goal of breathtaking genius when he drilled home from 20 yards to bring the first half to an end.

Debutant, Raphael Dwamena scored a brace in the second half to finish the Walia ibex of Ethiopia.

Coach Kwesi Appiah and his lads go top of group F.
