Odawna market opens today after fire outbreak
The Odawna Market, which caught fire last week, will be opened today, Monday, 21 January 2019 to the public after it was temporarily shut down.
Investigate report on the cause of the fire is also expected to be released today.
Last week’s fire destroyed more than 80 stalls. No deaths or injuries were recorded, but large quantities of goods of assorted nature running into thousands of Ghana cedis were lost.
Speaking to Accra based Class FM, the National Director of NADMO, Nana Agyeman Prempeh, said the market will be opened today and the content of the report will be made known to the traders to ensure a stakeholder approach in dealing with the problem of repetitive fires at the market.
