I am going for a fifth term – Ghanaian MP discloses

Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu has revealed that he will seek re-election for a fifth term in the December 2020 general elections.

Mr Iddrisu announced his re-election bid when he inaugurated a rural electrification project at Tangni, a community in the Tamale South Constituency.

According to him, the announcement will douse rumours suggesting he was planning on retiring from parliament.

The Minority Leader said: “I want to thank the people of Tamale and with humility and integrity, and dedicated service, I cherish the opportunity to have served them these years and I’ll cherish some additional opportunity in terms of elongating my service to the people of Ghana and to the people of Tamale South as a Member of Parliament.

“Therefore, come 2020, I’ll run formally as a candidate for the Member of Parliament for Tamale South constituency.”

Mr Iddrisu has been an MP since 2005.
