Ghana – Two die in gas explosion
Two persons were burnt beyond recognition at Kikam in the Ellembelle district of the Western region in a motor crash which resulted in a gas explosion Wednesday evening.
According to an eyewitness, Egya Eti, a mini urban bus and a taxi cab both traveling from Takoradi to Esiama collided head on upon reaching Kikam when the bus had a tyre burst and lost control.
The taxi, which was being run on gas as fuel exploded in the process and charred the two passengers.
Eti told Empire News’ Emmanul Ohene-Gyan a stationary private car was also affected.
The bodies have been conveyed to the Axim Government Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
The Ellembelle District Police Commander Thomas Bayor confirmed the accident, adding investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
