Ghana – Three suspected armed robbers arrested with pistol, knives & acid
The Asokwa Divisional Police Command has arrested three (3) suspects in connection with a robbery attack at Aputuogya, a suburb of Kumasi.
The suspects Mohammed Sulley (18) Abu, Abubakar Sadiq Awudu (19) and Ibrahim Issah (19) went to Aputougya and it’s sorrounding areas on a robbery spree when luck eluded them and were arrested by the residents.
Briefing Journalists in Kumasi, the regional Police Command DCOP Ken Yeboah explained that a search in a black school bag carried by one of the suspects revealed a smaller bag containing one locally manufactured pistol, two live cartridges, two knives and two tricycle ignition keys.
‘Other items include ten Tramadol tablets, two eye drops and plastic container containing a liquid substance suspected to be acid which they use in their operation,’ he said.
DCOP Yeboah said the suspects who admitted to the offence, during identification parade have been identified by some residents.
The suspects are in police custody assisting in investigations.
