Ghana – Ghana has just partnered a powerful force in the world to expand industries and create jobs
Ghana is partnering Japan for the expansion of the manufacturing sector
Vice president Bawumia is hopeful the coming of Japan will make Ghana a super-power in manufacturing
Vice president, Mahamadu Bawumia says Ghana is interested in partnering countries like Japan for economic growth and national development.
According to the vice president, Ghana will be partnering with Japan as part of government’s industrialization program to ensure that the construction and manufacturing sectors are revived.
The comments by the vice president followed a high level delegation led by the Japanese minister in charge of land, infrastructure, transport and tourism, H.E Suematsu Shinsuke at the Flagstaff House ahead of the Ghana-Japan high quality conference under the auspices of the Japan-Africa Infrastructure Development Association (JAIDA).
The collaboration of Japan follows the interest by various international investors to be a part of Ghana’s industrialization agenda – a development which has seen Ghana’s foreign direct investment rise by 8 percent, the highest since Ghana’s independence in 1957.
Also, senior minister, Yaw Osarfo Marfo has revealed to Joy FM that investors have already engaged government at the IMF/World bank spring meeting over their interest in investing heavily in various sectors in the country.
Yaw Osarfo Marfo is thus calling on all sector ministers to welcome these investors with an open arms so as to deepen government’s resolve to expand the private sector.
