No Gov’t appointee can travel with President’s permission – Pius Hadzide

Deputy Information Minster, Pius Enam Hadzide says government appointees who can justify their official foreign travels will be granted the all-clear signal by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He reiterated in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ that, “due to the outbreak [Coronavirus], no government appointee can travel now without permission from the President.”

According to him, this is part of measures by the President to prevent what is now turning out to be a pandemic, Coronavirus also known as COVID-19, from being recorded in the country.

Pius Enam Hadzede told host Kwesi Aboagye that the President will only grant permission to “essential travels by his appointees.”

“If it is not essential, don’t even come to the President for permission,” he added.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has temporarily suspended all foreign travels for all public officials as part of measures to prevent the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

The directive affects all sector ministers and their deputies, regional ministers and their deputies, metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives (MMDAs), as well as heads of government agencies and the Chief of Staff.
